The Facts

Page 24 of National Grids 2024 proposal booklet

This is the document from National Grid plc . Future projects that would connect to the substations along the pylon route.

This list includes wind generated electricity, solar generated electricity,  battery storage and three gas turbine power stations .

Although these projects have not been publicly announced by the National grid plc they are expected to go ahead if the pylon system goes ahead.

These projects are financed by speculative investors in the energy market. As they are all major nationally important infrastructure projects they Will have to go through the same process of consultation and will have to go to the planning inspectorate /secretary of state.

How much land will the solar farms need along the proposed pylon route.

Solar farm land requirements Grimsby to Walpole

Approximately 5 acres to 1 Megawatt of solar panels is the industry standard.

Total land requirements for all Energy infrastructure projects proposed and currently on the Grid connections list is estimated to stand at over 100sq miles of Lincolnshire countryside (over 5.5% of our agricultural land)
