National Grid have released the Statutory consultation into Grimsby to Walpole and the non statutory consultation into Weston Marsh to East Leicestershire.
Grimsby to Walpole now has a more refined route with pylon positions, some very slight token concessions have been made, such as avoiding an area close to a special needs children's centre and reducing the height of 20 pylons from 50m to 40m in an area close to the Wolds. However they have added a second substation at Weston Marsh with a surprise second pylon route that runs to East Leicestershire.
The proposal is to build approximately 87miles of new 400KV overhead transmission line between the two new substations at Grimsby and Walpole and four other substations along the route as part of the infrastructure that will serve to provide London the South and parts of Europe with more clean green energy provided by offshore wind generators. The onshore route is the basis to connect an abundance of industrial scale solar farms, wind farms and gas turbines throughout Lincolnshire

We have until August 6th to register our individual objections:
HERE IS HOW:Email contact@g-w.nationalgrid.com or
Write to Freepost G TO W (no stamp required) We do not have to use the feedback form on the National Grid website but you can.
woWe have until August 6th to object in this non statutory consultation. Here on Marsh substations for approx. 38 miles into Leicestershire. With two new substations along the route. (the connecting Weston Marsh substation is one of two Weston Marsh substations that form part of the separate Grimsby to Walpole proposal)
Non Statutory Consultation on this proposal will run from 11th June until Details provided by National Grid are available and HERE and the interactive map HERE

Whilst our campaign is focused on the Grimsby to Walpole route, there are other proposals and upgrades being revealed you may wish to visit our sister site www.lincsland.co.uk where we track and link to all energy infrastructure projects heading to the county. Be warned the sheer number of proposals will shock you. (currently standing at over 100sq miles)
The facts are quite staggering, when you take into consideration all of the new energy provision projects that are outlined and proposed to be developed within the area.

NATIONAL GRID are hoping that we won’t argue their ‘upgrade’ scheme, but they seriously underestimate the people of Lincolnshire and our determination to protect our county
They are proposing to erect around 250 of these 50m tall pylons (that’s like a 16-storey block of flats!) they will be 330m apart and stretch for 87 miles from Grimsby to Walpole, passing Louth, Alford, Burgh le Marsh, Boston, Spalding and crossing the Norfolk border. Tearing up farmland and towering over villages.
Not just that but there are two gigantic substations and four huge ones along the route that will also be built/extended.
There are already many proposals for green energy generation hoping to join this grid and countless more that would be able to feed in, these include wind/solar farms, carbon capture and hydrogen generators, battery farms and more, that will take away vast amounts of Lincolnshire's prime agricultural farmland. Generating more electricity than the UK would ever need.
The pylons are UNNECESSARY. An integrated offshore grid would be better, faster cheaper and more sustainable solution, you can find out more HERE
Tell your neighbours, tell your friends!
We are normal everyday people. We are you.
We love where we live and we all have different questions and concerns. This is more than just complaining about a blighted view of our landscapes.
We are looking into the environmental impact on our wildlife and migrating birds. The possible health impacts, the social and economic impact. The issues faced by farmers forced to place multiple pylons in prime agricultural land, Tourism and much more.
The cumulative impact of this and other energy infrastructure will have a devastating affect on our rural county.
We are working closely with Parish councils along the proposed route and our team are dedicated to fighting this proposal every step of the way.
We need your help and support, be that sharing a post on FACEBOOK , helping research and write reports.
or writing to our local MPs
We cannot do this alone.
